Sample Question-Wellness Programs

QUESTION

We are presently attempting to implement a Wellness/ Fitness initiative in our organization - we recently completed a thorough analysis and presented our report to our Board of Directors to implement this initiative - we have been given direction to return back to the Board in June with what in essence is a cost benefit assessment of the program.  Where can I get detail information - history of similar experiences in both private and public sector.

ANSWER

We have researched and pulled together a number of resources to assist you in your research on wellness programs:

1) Survey Report

This is a survey report that we have on retention. We thought their statistics on the growth in the number of companies offering either exercise facilities or health club memberships from 1998 - 2000 was interesting. We don't know if it will help you with any justification of the programs you recommend but it shows more doing it for retention purposes.
